Well Sonicandtails attempted to finish off 1-2, didn’t get to far due to sdgsaghsdgafksdgfjhg CAMERA ISSUES. I almost had them corrected a few months back, but… yea… I hate 1-2’s camera…
Anyway, while he did that, I messed with a possible Coop mode. I could only test it with single card play, which makes it a lot harder to work with. From I’ve found, it still possible, I just need a tool that can create NARC files however big I need them to be. If I had another flash cart, I’d probably have it done by now, but money and the scarcity of them these days makes it a painful process…
So… We let the project sit… and sit… and sit some more…
I do admit I did do some beta research during that time. I found a few unused objects… Like wheels… yea… Fun stuff right?…
So Sonic and I figured we’d just wait for the tools we needed to continue. We’ve got our hopes up for a tool set we’ve been promised, but the news of Treeki making a new editor is great. Hopefully with this, we’ll be able to get somewhere with this project and get a demo release soon.

Treeki, after confirming that he had no plans to continue work on NSMBe3 (his now dead editor project), confirmed that he was working on a completely new project Saying:
“I’m already working on a new editor, as well, which is why I haven’t been active for a few days. It’s not being worked on too quickly (I have a lot of other projects that need to be finished as well) but hopefully I can get it done soon. It’s also got a new twist which makes it a lot more powerful.
Expect me to post more about it in a few days. :P”
After some discussion he then went into detail in a later post:
“Anyway, I might as well say what I’m doing-
I’m creating a generic DS editor, somewhat similar to Tahaxan and others. However, it will support plugins. This means you can load any game and it will show all the relevant plugins.
For example, load something stupid like 25-in-1 Generic Board Games No One Cares About, and you’ll only see generic plugins like a file explorer (Nitro Explorer replacement) but load NSMB for example, and if you have the correct plugins, you will see a list for editors on it (in addition to the generic plugins).
It will be extensible using C# or any of the .NET languages, and it will also provide things to make editor development using it easier, like a ROM handling API (files and such).
It might seem a bit overkill at first, but it will make this much easier to write later on.”
All I know is that it’s a big project. It should work with every released DS game and can be built on to edit said games. THIS IS NOT JUST AN EDITOR FOR NSMB. I do believe that the tools for NSMB editing will be included along with new features not seen in NSMBe2.
More to come as I try to contact Treeki.

It seems so far… Theoretically… While NRMB is still at a halt, work has been going to getting a simple Coop Mario and Luigi 1-1 Working. We’re still looking into it. I really didn’t want to ditch you guys this week, so I figured I might as well send out a little update to you regarding this at least.

SNAKE!
WHAT HAPPENED!
SNAKE?
SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!
I’ll tell you what happened Colonel… Tanks bought himself Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes last week and has been dieing to play more! He’s now stuck on in the middle of Metal Gear Solid 2 and needs to pilfer a PS2 from a friend so he can play 3. He’s also building a shrine in his closet for him to mourn when MGS4 gets released. Tanks does not want to cough up $600 for a PS3 and MGS4! ><
Thanks Snake, I’ll take it from here. In other words Colonel. NSMB is on hold until a nicer weeks appears on the horizon. We’re way to busy this week and 1-2 is so damn close to completion…

When hacking you tend to find prototype stuff… Well I found something of interest…
I remember a while back, we had gone through the NSMB ROM and found levels that were not used in the game. So yea, they were beta levels and all but one would boot. So we dismissed the rest since we knew what they looked like anyway…
Well I had remembered viewing a youtube video of the NSMB E3 demo. So I got bored and started watching last night. Then something struck me… What if it was still in the ROM? Just as I had thought, it was!
Here is a video of what Treeki and I had worked on this morning. After about 20 tries of messing with the header file, we managed to get it to boot. Now that we know why the levels would not boot, Treeki has been messing with the other 3 to get them working. Another video should be up soon, I’ll link it as soon as it is done processing.
EDIT:
Here they are:
